Todd graduated from Cambrian College with a degree in Fitness Management. He then went on to obtain a BS in Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Medicine from Lake Superior State University. Upon completing his BS he held the position as Assistant Athletic Trainer and Strength Coach at Webber International University and earned his MBA. He later went on to be the Head Athletic Trainer of the Cape Fear Wildcats professional arena football team. Todd joins In Motion Fitness after serving as the Director of Bladen Fitness Services, a hospital owned fitness facility. As a prior national championship collegiate athlete and fitness enthusiast, Todd brings over 22 years of diverse experience from the fitness, and sports medicine industries. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA).

Matt holds a BS in Sports Medicine from Valdosta State University and a Master’s Degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science from the University of Louisville. While at the University of Louisville Matt served as the Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for both the football and baseball programs. Matt brings over 29 years of extensive exercise, conditioning, and sports medicine knowledge and experience including holding the position of Head Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach at Webber International University for six years. Matt is an accomplished tri-athlete having successfully completed Ironman Florida and numerous Half Ironman events around the country. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Dane joined the team at In Motion Fitness in 2013. He graduated from UNC-Asheville with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health and Wellness Promotion. While at UNC-Asheville, Dane was a sprinter for the Bulldogs and currently holds the 400 meter record for both indoor and outdoor track. He was also employed with the Health and Fitness Center while at UNC-Asheville. Dane graduated from the National Personal Training Institute in Charlotte, NC where he completed a 500 hour course in personal training. He currently holds his certification with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-CPT). We are excited to have Dane as a part of the IMF team!!

Yordan Ascanio


Dr. Yordan Ascanio PT, DPT ​helps active adults and athletes recover from injury so they can feel healthier and stay active. Shelley holds a Masters degree in Education from Tulane University and has done extensive postgraduate studies. She is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer (NASM-CPT), the National Strength and Conditioning Association where she is certified as a personal trainer with distinction, (NSCA- CPT*D), and is a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC). Ed is an avid fitness and sports enthusiast. He holds a personal trainer certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). With over 12 years in the fitness industry, he has extensive experience working with people of different backgrounds and fitness levels from beginners to elite athletes who seek to increase strength, performance and fat loss. He recently relocated from Florida, where he owned and managed his training facility for over 5 years, to Huntersville, North Carolina. His experience also includes being personal training director of multiple fitness facilities. Ed is an obstacle course athlete and Ninja Warrior competitor. He has competed in over 50 obstacle course races since 2012. Some of his recent accomplishments are: 2016 OCR World Champions Qualifier, 34th place out of 1221 at Battlefrog Charlotte 2016; American Ninja Warrior competitor and course tester and 5th Place Team Competition at EATA, Miami FL, among a few.

Endurance Specialist In Motion Fitness, Inc welcome’s Glen Thompson to their team of skilled health and fitness professionals. Glen’s primary concentration is endurance training for all levels. Endurance training is a method of exercise used to improve aerobic conditioning for all skill levels, from the recreationist to the fitness enthusiast or the beginner athlete to your Olympic competitor. Glen has had the privilege to gain valuable experience working alongside many professional athletes including Dan Jansen (Gold Medal Olympic Speed Skater) and Zola Budd Pierterse (Olympic track and field competitor, world cross-country champion and former World Record Holder for 500m). Massage Therapists


Gerrard A. Miller is a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist (LMBT #10969) and a Certified Personal Trainer. He received his education from one of the top neuromuscular therapy schools in the Southeast, the Edmund Morgan School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy. He furthered his education at the National Academy of Sports Medicine where he received certification as a Certified Personal Trainer and a Correctional Exercise Specialist. In 2016 he became a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance.
In addition to the North Carolina state-mandated 500 hours of massage training, he has completed an additional 150 hours of training in neuromuscular therapy as known as "NMT." NMT is an advanced program of soft tissue manipulation that helps correct postural/muscular imbalances by using pressure therapy to relax muscles and release compressed nerves.

Sean Thomas, North Carolina Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist 7848. Graduated from the Southeastern School of Neuromuscular Massage in 2007. Has worked full time as a massage therapist since graduating, quickly determining that his passion was to help relieve pain and restore functional mobility. Sean started specializing in Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques (M.A.T.), which blends osteopathic, structural integration and myofascial release techniques to relieve chronic pain and dysfunction. Dylan Lowry


Dylan is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian with a Master’s degree in nutrition from the University at Buffalo. He has a strong passion for sports nutrition, which first arose when he made the connection between nutrition and performance during his career as a division 1 track and field athlete. Devan Anderson


Devan joined In Motion Fitness as a golf performance coach, personal trainer, and corrective exercise specialist in 2018, and is an alumnus of IMG, having attended as a student-athlete in the Golf program in 2001. She grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico, before moving to Austin, Texas to play golf for the University of Texas from 2002-07. After graduating with a bachelor of science in Kinesiology, Devan went on to play professionally for three years, before moving abroad to Amsterdam to get her Masters in PT from the European School of Physiotherapy. Devan resides in Cornelius, North Carolina.

Devan has a deep passion for helping athletes achieve their goals, and as a former player, understands the physical demands the body undergoes during certain sports, thus emphasizes proper technique and awareness to avoid injuries and ensure each individual achieves maximum potential.
